Caledonian Primary School is located in Thompson Street, Brown Hill, a suburb of Ballarat. The school is set on an attractive site of over six acres with excellent classroom spaces. Our grounds are currently undergoing a major renewal, planned by Tread Lightly Permaculture. The school is working in partnership with the community to provide a learning environment that will be unique, produce masses of fresh food and provide students with engaging learning spaces. We operate an After School Care Program five days per week and also offer Active After School Communities.
Caledonian Primary School has increasing enrolment figures with a current enrolment of over 230 students. In 2017 there are two Prep classes, three 1/2 classes, three 3/4 classes and three 5/6 classes. Art, P.E and Integrated Studies are taken by specialist teachers. Our school also has a technology focus, with Chromebooks and iPads throughout the school. We encourage students to bring their own iPads to use as a learning enrichment tool.
All Grade 3 - 6 students have their own Chromebook to use at school, engaging with the Google Apps for Learning suite. This collaborative, 1:1 program is exceptional in Ballarat.
The Senior students have also been involved in a Media program that includes animation, music videos and television news.
