We believe that children learn by trying a variety of visual-arts activities.
All students are timetabled for 1 hour in the Artroom each week.
At Caledonian, we focus upon creating (exploring, discovering, and experimenting) whilst developing skills and responding to the work of others.
Communication Skills: Art goes beyond spoken language to share feelings that might not otherwise be expressed.
Problem-Solving Skills: Kids test possibilities and work through challenges, coming up with new ways to “fix” unexpected outcomes.
Social & Emotional Skills: Kids understand themselves and the control they have over their personal efforts.
Fine Motor Skills: Holding a paintbrush, snipping paper, drawing with charcoal , shading with greylead, joining 3D objects, squeezing or spraying paint, rolling clay helps to develop a child's fine motor skills and control of materials.
Art is a process, not a product!
